PML-N government is trying to work, there is no doubt about it but there are several inherent and intrinsic issues how they are trying to operate. Mismanagement and over-ambition are two key of their faults.
Following are the top 5 reasons behind Nandipur power project failure so far:
1) Nobody knows who is the boss? Is it Khawaja Asif, Shahbaz Sharif or Abid Sher Ali?
2) Chinese contractor is the same which was black-listed for the providing faulty railway engines. Project is stuck with them due to the contractual binding, and we can’t anger China.
3) There is no proper planning and execution and government is showing rushed over-ambition. Project management is not there at all.
4) Of course, corruption and wounds given by PPP minister Dr. Babar Awan are still there to hurt project.
5) Project is being used as poster child of PML-N performance and its back-firing.
PML-N should calm down and take a deep breath. They should publicly admit their blunders regarding Nandipur and stop making more mistakes. They must make private producer answerable and they must be realistic with its capacity, run time and cost. And please appoint just one power minister.
