KIET Model United Nations Conference 2014 will be the second annual national conference to be held by the KIET Model United Nations Society. Hosted by a hardworking group of individuals, the Secretariat of KIETMUN 2014, are Model UN veterans on their own. In addition to winning the Model UN Conferences nationally and internationally over multiple times and chairing in the Intra level Conferences as well as National Level Conferences, the Secretariat also have valuable experience as delegates which they will use to benefit KIETMUN 2014. The goal of the conference is to strengthen and develop the network of students and young leaders across Pakistan, using Model UN as a platform to unite a diverse range of people, cultures, ideas and intellectual backgrounds. Also it is to continue the tradition of conducting successful National-level MUN Conferences under the banner of PAF-KIET. The scope of the event is to engage the youth with the social, political, economic and ethical problems that are prevailing throughout the world by providing them with a platform where they can debate upon such topics and find relevant and applicable solutions to these issues in the light of their own research. The idea is to develop in them the ability to solve large scale issues on small platforms by showcasing exemplary tolerance and ability to listen to each other’s opinion without displaying any signs of aggression and violence while also keeping in perspective the interests of each and every country of the world. Supervised and judged by experienced debaters, it is made sure that the debates and discussions proceed in the right direction. The best debaters and speakers are then awarded accordingly for their efforts in carrying out better diplomacy and convincing others to their ideas.
The target audience will be students of schools, colleges and universities who have the mental maturity to understand the present issues and the importance of solving them.
