Kab nahin naaz uthaye hain tumhare mene,
Dekho aanchal pe sajaye hain sitare mene,
Wohi lamhaat asaasa hain mere jeevan ka,
Jo tere qurb mein lamhaat guzaarey mene,
Roz aate hain mujhe yaad tere zulm-o-sitam,
Roz khanjar keyi seeney mein utare mene,
Har bahana tera aankhon mein saja kar rakha,
Apne seeney se lagaye tere laaray mene,
Meri pooron se mehek ati rahi hai din bhar,
Jab bhi khawbon mein tere baal sanwarey mene,
Teri chokhatt pe keyi baar huyi mujh ko shikast,
Teri dehleez pe aansu keyi haarey mene,
Meri awaaz akeli hi palat kar aayi,
Jab musibat mein kabhi yaar pukarey mene..
