Subject : Events & controversies from Pakistan in 2015
Every year passes with several ups and downs, however in case of Pakistan, it’s often terrorism-related incidents that relatively eclipse other happenings across the 365 days. The outgoing 2015 doesn’t reflect a bleak picture on terrorism front, instead it can be termed an ‘year of political controversies’.

Saulat Mirza shakes MQM with startling revelations

Death row convict Saulat Mirza in a video which surfaced hours before his execution on March 19 revealed that he was being used as political pawn.
Visibly distraught and being awarded death penalty for killing KESC Managing Director Shahid Hamid, his driver and a guard on July 5, 1997, in Karachi, Mirza opened up about his past, crimes and threats days before his execution and accepted that he was a member of MQM.
“I was brainwashed, used and disposed off like a tissue paper.” His statements raised torrent of questions against the MQM and a long discussion ensued in the media whether the party really cared for its key activists in catch-22 situations.
