Subject : Becareful there is a difference btw word "Allah" and "God" With the extreme usage of internet all over the word, it has brought together Muslims of various cultures, environment and backgrounds from all over the world. This is an ease of exchanging information between all the communities. But there is another issue that has considerably raised among the readers and that is the difference between the words “Allah” or “God”. Most of the people don’t know which word is correct to use while referring to God. It’s very surprising to notice that many Muslims don’t understand the meaning of the word “Allah”. Let me make it clear for all of you that Allah is an Arabic word for God. It’s the combination of two Arabic words:
Al, which means THE Illah, which means GOD
Most of the people believe that Allah is the name of the God. It’s very wrong to personalize him as a person. In a verse from Quran it is clearly mentioned that: “Call Him Allah, or call Him the Rahman (The Almighty); whichever name you use, to Him belongs the “Asma al-Husna” 17:110
This verse makes it very clear that God don’t have a specific name. The fact is that people use God and Allah because they speak different languages. Arabian people call Him Allah while English people call Him God and that doesn’t mean that we are speaking of another God because there is only one God. We can call him God as well as Allah.
