Recipe for Chicken Tikka Kebab Masala


  • Chicken 600 gm (boneless)
  • Papaya paste 2 tbsp
  • Onion 1 medium
  • Ginger 2 inch piece
  • Garlic clove 5
  • Green chili 3 - 4
  • Water ½ cup
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • All spice powder ½ tbsp
  • Coriander powder ½ tbsp
  • Cumin powder ½ tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Poppy seeds 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Yogurt 125 gm
  • Red food color a pinch (optional)
  • Oil 4 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing
  • Green chili for garnishing

Cooking Directions

Cut boneless chicken piece into 1 inch cubes.

Now apply papaya on chicken.

Add onion, ginger, garlic, green chili and water in blender and make paste.

Now mix paste into chicken.

Now add lemon juice, all spice powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, poppy seed, yogurt and salt in onion mixture.

Now marinate chicken in this mixture for half an hour.

Take chicken cubes out of the marinade and fry in a frying pan for 2 minutes.

Now add the marinade to the chicken, cover an cook on low flame till chicken is cooked through.

Turn up the flame and thicken the gravy.

Take out in a serving platter, garnish with coriander leaves and green chili.

Serve hot with potato peas pilaf or garlic naan
