Recipe for Indian Chicken Handi


  • Chicken (boneless) ½ kg
  • Tomatoes (blended) 2
  • Green chillies (cut down their length) 3
  • Ginger (finely cut) 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
  • Onions (fried) 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
  • Fenugreek paste ½ tsp
  • Hot spices powder ½ tsp
  • Yogurt (whipped) 2 tbsp
  • Fresh cream 4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil ½ cup
  • Ginger and green chillies (finely cut) for garnishing.

Cooking Directions

Heat oil in a pot and fry garlic till golden. Add tomatoes and onions and fry for 5 minutes.

Add salt, red chillies and turmeric and fry till oil separates.
Add chicken and fry till water dries.

Add yogurt, coriander, cumin, ginger and green chillies and fry more.

Add fenugreek, hot spices and cream and remove from flame,

Garnish tantalizing Handi Chicken with ginger and green chillies and serve.
