Recipe for Chicken Potato Qorma


  • Potato ½ kg ( cut in 1 inch cube)
  • Clarified butter ½ cup
  • Onion 2 (sliced)
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Chicken ½ kg
  • Green cardamom 5 – 6
  • Black cardamom 3
  • Cinnamon 2 sticks
  • Cloves ½ tsp
  • Whole black pepper ½ tsp
  • Bay leaves 2
  • Yogurt 2 cups
  • Water 2 cup
  • Chili powder 2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Kewra water 1 tbsp
  • Nutmeg mace powder ½ tsp

Cooking Directions

Heat clarified butter in a pan, add onion and fry till golden brown.

Remove brown onion and keep on absorbent sheet.

In the remaining clarified butter add ginger garlic paste, fry for sometimes.

Now add potatoes, chicken, green cardamoms, black cardamoms, cinnamon sticks, cloves, whole black pepper and bay leaves, stir fry.

Now add yogurt, water, chili powder, coriander powder and salt.

Cover and cook till chicken is tender.

Crush brown onion and add to the pan.

Also add kewra and nutmeg mace powder, mix well.

Simmer on low flame for 1 – 2 minutes.

Dish it out and serve hot.
