Recipe for Banarsi Kebab

Ingredients

  • Beef 1 kg
  • Onions 250 gm (sliced thickly)
  • Yogurt ½ kg (whipped)
  • Potatoes 250 gm (cubed)
  • Tomatoes 250 gm (cubed)
  • Capsicums 250 gm (cubed)
  • Tomato paste 1 cup
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • All spices powder 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Green chilli paste 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder 2 tsp
  • Roasted cumin seeds 2 tsp
  • Nutmeg and mace powder ½ tsp
  • Raw papaya paste 2 tbsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Oil ½ cup
  • Green chilli paste for garnishing

Cooking Directions

Marinate meat in yogurt, ginger garlic paste, red chilies, green chilies, papaya, turmeric, tomato paste, cumin, nutmeg, mace, all spices and salt. Set aside.

Layer a steel dish with meat, potatoes, tomatoes, capsicums and onions in this order.

Pour oil on top, cover with aluminum foil and bake in a pre-heated oven at 200°c for 45 minutes.

Remove and serve garnished with finely sliced green chilies.

Note: If the dish seems watery, cook it on stove.
