Recipe for Arvi Masala


  • 1 Kg Taro (peeled)
  • 1-2 Tsp Salt
  • 2-3 Tbsp Cooking Oil
  • 1 Tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1 Tsp Carom Seeds
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 10-12 Bay Leaf
  • 1 Tbsp Cooking Oil
  • 2 Tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • ½ cup Onion
  • ¼ cup Tomatoes (chopped)
  • Salt To Taste
  • 1-1/2 Tsp Coriander Powder
  • 2 Tsp Red Chili Powder
  • ½ Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Tsp Mango Powder
  • ½ cup Water
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • 2-3 green chili
  • 2 tbsp Green Coriander

Cooking Directions

Peel the Taro and cut into slices.

Add salt and mix it well and rest it for 15-20 mins. After wash them.

In a cooking pan, add cooking oil, rai dana, ajwain, cumin, kari patta and cook for a mins.

Now, add washed taro and cook for 2-3 minute and set aside.

In a cooking pan, add cooking oil, ginger garlic paste, onion and fry for a while.

Now add tomatoes, salt, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, mango powder and cook for a while.

Now add water, cooked taro and mix it well and cover it and cook until fully tender (add more water if required) now.

Garnish with garam masala, green chili, green coriander.
