They mean business and their message is crystal clear. Karachi operation will go on against terrorists, mafias and criminals. This message is coming from GHQ and Raiwind and being implemented by NAB, rangers, all agencies, and FIA. MQM is on the run and has been clipped to a good extent though lots has to be done and interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan is in London to finalize coordinated efforts by Pakistani and UK authorities against the MQM. On the ground, in Karachi MQM is in the hiding. Karachi is dysfunctional for decades now not just because of MQM’s violence, it has been looted. plundered ruthlessly by the Pakistan People’s Party. In PPP ranks, leader of every rank has looted to it’s heart fill. Everybody has front man and everybody has been washing hands in this river of loot. From top to bottom, everything stinks.
Karachi is nerve center of Pakistan and a financial hub. Business-oriented PML-N and Peace-oriented establishment both are convinced and focused on cleansing Karachi because they know that if they want to succeed in their Operation Zarb-e-Azb, then they have to get the control of Karachi back in the hands of state. From Dr. Asim to Owais Muzzaffar, from Amin Fahim to Manzoor Kaka; and various others are being investigated. All the MPAs and MNAs of PPP from Sindh have committed corruption of unbelievable magnitude. Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif is doing well so far. He must not back off and PML-N also must not fall victim of political expediency. PTI must support this operation instead of trying to leverage this by siding with PPP. Shah Mehmood shouldn’t have visited Khurshid Shah of PPP. They should stick to their principled stand against corruption. People of Pakistan, especially Karachi are watching very closely.
