Recipe for Palak Chicken

Ingredients

  • Chicken–> 1 lb
  • Palak/Spinach –> 1 bunch
  • ginger paste –> 1/4 tsp
  • garlic paste –>1/4 tsp
  • Onions –> 1 & 1/2
  • Tomatoes –> 2
  • Curds –> 1tbsp
  • Zeera powder –> 1/4 tsp
  • Corrainder powder –> 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder –> 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder –> 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala powder –> 1/4 tsp
  • Kasuri methi – ->1/4 tsp
  • Cashew nuts–>5
  • Oil
  • salt

Cooking Directions

Clean palak and chop them. Microwave the chopped palak/spinach for 4 mins.Then grind them along with the cashew nuts into a fine paste.

Marinate the cleaned chicken meat with curds and all the above spice powder for 1 hour & keep aside.

Heat oil in a frying pan. Add ginger and garlic paste and fry till the raw smell is completely gone.

Then add chopped onions and fry till light pink in color.

Add to this the marinated chicken and fry for 7 minutes till the chicken is lightly roasted.

Add the chopped tomatoes and little water and fry till the chicken is well cooked.

Add the spinach/palak paste and cook for another 5 minutes.

At the end add kasuri methi and remove from the stove top.

Serve this with rice or roti.
