Recipe for Paneer paratha

Ingredients

  • 1 cup All Purpose flour (plain flour or maida, you can also use wheat flour for healthy purpose)
  • 1/4 tbsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 cup chilled water 1 spoon more or less
  • Ingredients for Filling:
  • 1 cup of grated paneer (cottage cheese, I prefer Verka brand)
  • 2 chopped green chillis
  • 1 cup of finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup of cilantro/coriander
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tbsp of chat masala
  • oil- for frying the parathas

Cooking Directions

To make crust:Mix the flour, salt and oil. Add the chilled water slowly, mixing with your fingers as you pour. Do not knead the dough.

The dough has to be soft. Cover the dough and let it sit for at least 10-20 min.

To make the filling: Take the grated paneer, add sliced chillis, oinions, salt and pepper and chat masala. The filling is ready. You can add cilantro to this for your taste

How to make Paneer parantha: Take the dough and knead it for a few times. Divide the dough in 10-12 equal parts.

Take one part of the dough and with your fingers flatten the edges and make into 3-inch circle. Make sure its even.

Mold the dough into a cup shape and place 1 tbsp of filling in the center.

Pull the edges of the dough together to wrap the dal filling.

Repeat with the rest. Then start rolling each of these into even round shape like a roti.

Take a flat pan and add the cooking spray. Put the flat paratha on top of it, and the fry it on both sides with oil. Its ready to be served.
