Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari Monday conveyed the sentiments of Pakistanis over anti-Islam film to US secretary of State Hillary Clinton and said that the people of Pakistan are furious over the film, Innocence of Muslims.
During his meeting with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Monday, the president said that the US should consider the enraged sentiments of the Muslims, which were hurt after an American based film insulted prophet (PBUH).
“No one will be allowed to disrupt the peace of the world through his extremist acts.”
“Pakistan prefers trade more than the aid from United States,” he said adding that the US should give access to Pakistani products in their markets.
The President also invited the US to become a partner in the Diamir Bhasha Dam project. He said that this will dispel the impression that the US only works to its own priorities in Pakistan.
On the occasion, Hillary Clinton called President Zardari as his friend and applauded the efforts made by Pakistan in order to protect the embassy and consulates across the country.
Angry protestors in their attempt to reach US embassy and consulates clashed with police and law enforcement agencies on the occasion of Youm-e-Ishq-e-Rasool (S.A.W), announced by Pakistani government on Friday to honour prophet (PBUH), resulting in the killing of 25 people and injuring more than 200 people.
Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, Ambassador Sherry Rehman, Mr. Asfandyar Wali, Mr. Farooq Sattar and Mr. Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar accompanied President Zardari during the meeting while Deputy Secretary Tom Nides, Ambassador Marc Grossman, Gen. Douglas Lute , State Department Spokesperson Victoria Nulandand other senior State Department officials assisted Secretary Clinton.
