The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has banned the sale of cellphone’s Subscriber Identity Modules (SIMs) on Monday in the country’s province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The PTA banned the SIMs on the directives of Federal Interior Ministry, which took the decision in view of the growing use of illegal SIMs in most terrorist activities in the province.

Under the ban, no franchise or outlet of any company, along with shops, can sell its SIMs.
