Recipe for Pakistani Sweet Dish

Ingredients

  • 1 cup – basmati rice
  • 2 tbsp – ghee
  • 1 cup – sugar
  • 1/2 tsp – orange colour
  • Dry fruits, raisins, almonds, cashew nuts, finely chopped coconut
  • 1 tsp – cardamom, big and small
  • 2 tsp – crumbled khoya
  • vark (optional)
  • Kewra Few drops

Cooking Directions

Soak rice for 1 hour. Boil the rice with food color. When it is 1/3 done separate the water and spread on clean cloth so that the grains do not stick to each other.

Take a pan Add sugar and 2 tsp water in it and place it on a medium flame, boil until sugar dissolves. When it is done keep it aside

Now Heat ghee in an other pan, fry cardamom for 1-2 minutes. Now add rice in a heated pan then pour sugar mixture in it and cook on a high flame till excess water evaporates.

When little moisture left Cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes on slow fire.

Add dry fruits and again cover for 2-3 minutes or till cooked.

After cooking rice looks glossy.
