Recipe for Shahi Tukray

Ingredients

  • Sugar 250 gm
  • Silver Foil for garnishing
  • Milk 1 liter
  • Almond blanched 10 gram
  • Pistachios blanched 10 gram
  • Saffron a pich
  • Khoya 125 gram
  • Green Cardamom 3-4
  • Bread slices 6
  • Cooking Oil for frying

Cooking Directions

Boil milk with cardamom and add saffron and blanched pistachio and almonds.

Simmer milk on low flame till it reduces to half while stirring at intervals.

Add khoya to the cooked milk. Add sugar and dissolve it, let it simmer.

Remove the corners of the bread slices and cut into triangular shape. One slice will make 2 triangles.

Deep Fry slices till golden brown. And set in the serving dish.

Pour the whole boiled milk mixture on the slices and leave to cool.

Garnish with some khoya, nuts and silver leaf. Serve warm or chilled.
