Sindh government on Monday issued a notification placing a ban on riding or parking of a motorcycle within a half kilometer of an Imambargah and parking of a car within the radius of one km across Karachi.

In a handout issued on Monday, the Sindh Home Ministry said that the notification was issued after receiving directives from Interior Ministry, led by Rehman Malik, and proposals from Sindh police.

According to the notification, the restriction will not apply to the residents of the area, journalists, elderly people and law enforcement personnel.

It is to be mentioned here that the steps were taken after a bomb planted in a motorbike exploded near an Imambargah in Abbas Town area of Karachi on Sunday, killing three people and injuring 23 others.
